Heal, a national provider of doctor house call, today announced its acquisition [FP1] of Doctors on Call, an NYC-based provider of medical house call services for the elderly to expand into the New York City market. Doctors on Call Acquisition Benefits for Heal
Founded in 1968 by Paul R. Rosenstock, MD., and now owned and operated by Heal, Doctors on Call offers medical house calls for elderly and homebound patients throughout New York’s five boroughs, Long Island, and Lower Westchester. Their team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants provide expert medical treatment for chronic diseases, sick visits, and post-hospital care.
Heal’s acquisition of Doctors on Call – which averaged 42,000 house calls to seniors in NYC in 2018 – is aimed at transforming an old-school, people-intensive practice into an omni-modal care solution that lowers healthcare operating costs (opex) and provides always-on, connected care. This acquisition furthers Heal’s commitment to bringing quality, affordable, and timely care from qualified and compassionate doctors to people everywhere. Heal is in-network with all major PPO insurance companies in California, and New York, as well as Medicare, and will soon be in-network with insurers across the country.
“Our acquisition of NYC-based Doctors on Call further extends our leadership in house call based primary care for people of all ages,” notes Nick Desai, co-founder, and CEO. “New York City is like a second home for us, and we’re thrilled to serve the Big Apple with the best personalized, innovative healthcare. The Doctors on Call team shares Heal’s values of providing leading-edge healthcare in a location that is convenient for the patient and offers the opportunity to learn about patient needs in order to best serve their medical needs.”
Acquisition Impact for Existing Doctors on Call Patients
Heal’s innovative technologies will lower healthcare operating expenses and make Doctors on Call 65% more efficient, thus enabling more patients in the New York City area to be served. Additionally, The Heal Hub, a connected health device providing real-time health data to Heal doctors, combined with Heal Telemedicine, are already helping Doctor on Call patients have always-on connected care from their doctors – which is core to Heal’s mission. Patients will be able to access Heal house calls 12 hours a day, 365 days a year, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
