BJC HealthCare Taps R1 RCM to Enhance Revenue Integrity Across Enterprise

BJC HealthCare, based in St. Louis, Missouri has selected revenue cycle management (RCM) services company R1 RCM to provide its Revenue Integrity Solutions (RIS), formerly known as Revenue Capture Services (RCS) to support BJC’s affiliated hospitals and affiliated physician group in ensuring appropriate payment for services provided and documented via charge capture, coding review, root cause analysis and education. In addition to R1’s Revenue Integrity Solutions, hospitals and health systems can leverage other modular solutions from R1 to improve outcomes and drive revenue cycle management performance.

Why R1 RCM?

After conducting an extensive RFI process, BJC selected R1 for its Revenue Integrity Solutions module and the parties have entered into a three-year agreement to help ensure accurate billing for services performed while maintaining a compliant billing environment. R1’s Revenue Integrity Solutions leverage advanced technology and analytics, a proprietary rules engine and a team of healthcare experts to help providers gain accurate reimbursement for the care provided.

Why It Matters

“We are honored to add BJC HealthCare, one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the country, to our growing base of Revenue Integrity Solutions clients,” said Gary Long, Chief Commercial Officer at R1 RCM. “With more than $5 billion in net patient revenue, BJC HealthCare is one of the largest non-profit health care systems in the country, with two nationally-recognized academic hospitals, and is one of the largest private employers in St. Louis and Missouri. We’re looking forward to deploying our solutions across their portfolio of hospitals to help them improve their financial performance.”
