DrChrono Integrates 3D Anatomical Modeling in Mobile EHR for Physician Practices

3D4Medical integration into DrChrono’s Mobile EHR allows physician practices to show 3D Anatomical Modeling on iPad and use Apple Pencil for drawing and cross-sections.

Mobile EHR platform for physician practices DrChrono Inc., today announced a new integration partnership with 3D4Medical, a provider of 3D medical technology applications and platform. The integration will allow practices across the United States to access 3D interactive modeling and animation videos from within their EHR to better educate patients.

Starting now physician practices using DrChrono’s mobile EHR platform can directly access 3D4Medical’s library of 3D interactive models of anatomy across ophthalmology, orthopedics, dentistry, physical therapy, chiropractic, and cardiology specialties.  Using the iPad and Apple Pencil, physicians can now draw on these models and display cross-sections of the anatomy in 3D to better educate patients about their conditions and recommend specific treatment plans.

In addition, clinicians can access 3D animation videos to give patients more detailed visuals and a deeper understanding of their condition.  The integration marks the first time practices using DrChrono’s EHR can access 3D interactive models and animation videos to educate their patients and inform them on treatment options.

“Accessing Complete Anatomy’s library of models and animation videos directly from DrChrono’s platform will make it easier for us to inform our patients about their condition and give them 3D visuals to better understand the treatment plan,” said Dr Jason Hunt, board certified Orthopedic surgeon, founder of OrthoLinks Orthopedics.   “We’re excited for this integration and the ability to leverage the DrChrono platform from our iPad Pros to give our patients a clearer picture of their injury and how treatment will work.”
