DrChrono Inc., the company enabling the medical practice of the future, today announced that it is the first medical records company to offer Apple hardware leasing bundle plans for doctors and medical professionals to combine the power of its award winning EHR with Apple hardware. The focus of this program is to kick-off the first white glove Apple hardware concierge experience to specialize and personalize what hardware a medical professional will need to meet the demands of running a modern medical practice.
There are three package options:
1. The small practice bundle: $129.22 per month for 36 months
2. Large practice bundle: $385.18 per month for 36 months
3. Custom practice bundle
The small and large practice bundle plans include Macbook Pro’s, iPad Pro’s, Apple TV and an Airport Extreme. The medical practice can also build out a personalized package that works specifically for each practice’s current and future hardware needs.
DrChrono’s new Apple hardware leasing bundle plans are provided to work for state-of-the-art medical practices. A practice can more easily afford hardware via a monthly lease payment, not having to pay the full cost upfront. The leasing bundle program also allows a provider to upgrade on a timely schedule, refreshing all hardware without the costly upfront spend. This enables a provider to get the latest and greatest iPad Pro, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Apple TV, iPhone, or Apple Watch that always keeps the practice up to date. There are multiple options on hardware refresh cycles: every one, two or three years. DrChrono has been building a mobile EHR on iPad since the day it launched in April 2010, so jointly pairing software and hardware together only makes sense.
Many medical practices are using old user interfaces, old software and outdated hardware. Legacy software is often poorly designed for the modern physician and their workflow, which forces the provider to use older hardware. The medical practice lagging software and hardware refresh cycle creates security issues; one security breach can damage or ruin a medical practice. DrChrono is 100% committed to always keeping a medical practice up to date through software and now through hardware.
One of the most important factors in upgrading software and hardware is to improve the doctors point of care experience with a patient. Providers should be enabled with powerful hardware so they can leverage the best medical apps available. If software is outdated on old hardware, providers waste time, and the quality of care provided to a patient is subpar.
A computer-on-wheels (COW) can actively hurt the doctor patient experience, with the provider entering data via keyboard, and not facing a patient. Providers should be able to engage a patient wherever the patient is located. It is DrChrono’s mission to make the interaction better between the patient and doctor.
Jim Griffin, President and COO of Direct Orthopedic Care (DOC), a multi-state Orthopedic Urgent Access Clinic group for adults and children mentions “With the DrChrono Apple bundle program, getting hardware is one less thing to worry about and it eliminates the usual large hardware capital expenditure that comes along with growth. That is important for us as we’re currently running 8 clinics and will be opening another 10 locations in the next 12 months. This offering is the clinic-in-a-box for software and IT that we’ve been looking for and will make a big difference as we scale.” Jim goes on to say, “The marriage of Apple hardware with DrChrono is perfect. With DrChrono, our software is always up-to-date with the latest innovations and now our hardware can keep pace with predictable costs and no additional oversight.”
