WellDoc’s Digital Platform for Type 2 Diabetes Powers “Diabetes Wellness Program” Through Samsung Health

WellDoc Unveils Consumer Diabetes Health App, BlueStar C to Help Truckers with Diabetes Management

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. and WellDoc, a digital therapeutic company, announced today that Samsung Health users now have access to a new consumer version of WellDoc’s digital platform known as the Diabetes Wellness Program (DWP). Samsung Health users now have access to a new Diabetes Wellness Program (DWP) available through the Samsung Health service that is powered by WellDoc’s platform used in its BlueStar® product. It is available to individuals in the United States with Samsung Health on the latest Samsung Galaxy mobile phone, as announced today by Samsung Electronics America and WellDoc.

The DWP is a 12-week health and wellness program designed to help adults with type 2 diabetes achieve a healthy lifestyle and to help manage their condition. Specifically, the DWP provides personalized information for users, such as interactive quizzes and videos, and the ability to conveniently monitor food intake, exercise, sleep, medication, and blood glucose readings for better diabetes self-management. Users benefit from helpful features including instant feedback from blood glucose entries and medication reminders, as well as motivation through weekly challenges and rewards for achieving goals.

Samsung Health is a personal health service designed to empower individuals to manage their health and fitness. It features a comprehensive platform that displays user activity trends and provides health insights, telehealth services and helpful feedback to connect users, friends and experts all while promoting healthier lifestyles. Available through the Samsung Health service*, the DWP is powered by WellDoc’s platform that is used in its BlueStar® product. This consumer version provides personalized information for users, such as interactive quizzes and videos, and the ability to conveniently monitor food intake, exercise, sleep, medication, and blood glucose readings for better diabetes self-management. Users benefit from helpful features including instant feedback from blood glucose entries and medication reminders, as well as motivation through weekly challenges and rewards for achieving goals.

Individuals living with type 2 diabetes must pay close attention to their care each day, taking daily medications and/or administering insulin injections, measuring blood glucose levels, and adhering to a strict diet and lifestyle plan.

To sign-up, users can navigate to the Samsung Health app, select “Programs” within the three dots menu in the upper right, and the Diabetes Wellness Program is found under the “Disease Management” section.
