Sharecare Unveils Unified, Cloud-Based Platform for Medical Record Retrieval Services

Sharecare, today announced at HIMSS18 that its affiliate Sharecare Health Data Services (formerly BACTES) has launched a new secure cloud-based platform that offers healthcare providers unified access to the company’s medical record retrieval services. The new platform provides clients with access to the quality, security and unmatched customer service they have come to rely on from Sharecare Health Data Services for more than 25 years, but now through the convenience of a SaaS model.

Whether a client is fulfilling release of information (ROI), electronic health record (EHR) chart indexing, audit and chart review, disability and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) form processing, or billing office workflow services, the new Sharecare Health Data Services platform supports all current formats for medical imaging, as well as scanned records and PDFs. This approach simplifies the sharing of medical records and data across multiple practices and systems, ultimately enabling better coordination and communication. Through the new Sharecare Health Data Services cloud-based platform, healthcare providers can:

·         Eliminate the need for special installations and internal servers to minimize their IT burden; 

·         Improve transparency, enabling any authorized user to see the status of their request – no matter how it was initiated – at any point in time;

·         Enable real-time status checks as well as daily and weekly production reports; and

·         Introduce new transparency and efficiency to their in-house operations.

Further, as security and regulatory compliance are central concerns for the storage, handling and transmission of medical records, the new Sharecare Health Data Services platform complies with the latest security and privacy standards, including HIPAA and HITRUST, and provides auditable access control for all records, whether stored or in-transit.
