Circulation and Lyft Team Up for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

Lyft Business is announcing a new integration partnership with EHR provider Allscripts. With Lyft-Allscripts integration, 45,000 physician practices, 180,000 physicians and 2,500 hospitals that use Allscripts EHR can easily request a Lyft for their patients.

In addition, Lyft also announced its ambitious goal of eliminating transportation barriers to care. Today, 3.6 million Americans have transportation issues that prevent them from getting to or from a doctor’s appointment, and 25 percent of lower-income patients have missed or rescheduled their appointments due to lack of transportation.

This can lead to consequences like emergency room visits and expensive hospital stays, and cost millions of dollars annually in inefficiency and lost time. Lyft’s goal is to cut these numbers in half by 2020, and soon after, to ensure that transportation is no longer a barrier to care for anyone.

In 2016, Lyft Business introduced Lyft Concierge API to help patients ride to and from important doctor appointments. Now, Lyft Business serves thousands of healthcare organizations, touching millions of patients’ lives:

Lyft partners with many organizations in the NEMT space to improve accessibility for communities in need of better transit options to healthcare appointments including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Ascension, Sutter, CareLinx, and Circulation

– 9 out of the top 10 largest US health systems work with Lyft.

– 10 of 10 brokers that manage Medicaid transportation are with Lyft.
