In order to ensure your organization’s reputation is not negatively impacted, you need to heighten your data security. Healthcare organizations should consider reducing the need for sensible information like social security numbers so that they can safeguard the privacy of their patients.

2. Consider Pricing Transparency

It is vital to be as clear and upfront as possible when pricing is being discussed with patients. This is an excellent strategy to help gain more trust from customers. However, this strategy will depend on the organization and overall business goals.

3. Personalize Your Social Media to Accommodate the Patients

It is easier for patients to build a personal connection with a healthcare organization when they feel encouraged and empowered to share their feedback and opinions. Healthcare organizations need to develop patient-focused content that shares real-life experiences and offers expert advice on the most common issues. It is also an added bonus if healthcare organizations create an online community to help connect patients together so that they can share their experiences.

4. Go Mobile

Mobile devices have taken the healthcare industry by storm and a lot of consumers are using them to monitor their heart rate, weight, and fitness levels among other things. In order to earn more business for your healthcare organization, you need to develop more engaging and interactive mobile options. In 2018, however, you need to ensure that it is not all just about apps but engagement with docs too. Ensure you incorporate doctors who can diagnose health concerns virtually and provide specialist referrals through telehealth.

5. Offer Education and More Collaborative Tools

It is critical that you provide educational content on various common healthcare conditions to help your patients get more insight. Providing educational content is only the first step since you will need to add collaborative tools to help ease communication between the doctors and patients. This will help minimize self-diagnosis and improve the trust between you and your patients.

6. Improve Internal Communication

Healthcare organizations need to direct a lot of effort towards improving internal communication among its employees which will, in turn, make the response to consumers quicker. Proper hospital communication will help shorten the time used to address issues and thereby preserve the organization’s reputation. The best way to ensure effective internal communication is through the use of various training programs and incentives.

 

Healthcare organizations need to make communication changes quickly in 2018 if they want to keep up with rapid changes in technology. Delays in improving communication in your organization could eventually be costly in the long run.
