Children’s National Health System has selected Artifact Health, a mobile app that streamlines the physician query process to improve the quality of patient records and ensure full reimbursement for services.
Physician queries are vital for accurate medical coding, which factors into proper reimbursement and quality scores for the hospital and physician – but traditionally have been primarily a manual, multi-step process. Children’s National will integrate Artifact with its Cerner patient record system so physicians can respond to queries quickly in one step.
According to Alec King, Children’s National EVP and Chief Financial Officer, “Artifact’s mobile query solution gives physicians an easier way to respond to CDI and coding questions that add greater specificity to the patient’s record. We wanted to ease the burden on our physicians, so they could spend less time on administrative tasks and more time on patient care.”
