ZocDoc Integrates with Epic EHR Via API for Health Systems

Online medical care scheduling service Zocdoc has announced integration with Allscripts EHR via API to improve both the real-time booking experience of patients and syncing capabilities for providers. Now offered through Zocdoc’s participation as an Integrator in the Allscripts Developer Program, the integration is available for new and existing practices using both Zocdoc and Allscripts.

Zocdoc allows patients to find and book directly into providers’ schedules, helping to improve access to care and decrease wait times for patients. In fact, while the average new patient in the US waits 24 days for a primary care appointment — the typical patient on Zocdoc books an appointment within 24 hours. Integrating with EHRs that value interoperable technology, like Allscripts, help improve the experience for patients, providers, and the greater industry.

“At Zocdoc, we believe in creating open, interoperable technology that provides value for patients, providers, and the greater healthcare industry,” said Joaquin Gamboa, Chief Legal Officer, Head of New Business and Government Affairs at Zocdoc in a statement. “We’re proud to work with Allscripts to help physicians maximize their time, create efficiencies for office staff, improve access, and deliver the simple, connected experience patients expect and deserve.”
