Digital Pharmacist Inc., an Austin-based digital health startup formed from a merger of RxWiki and TeleManager has raised $6.5 million in Series B funding led by Activate Venture Partners and LiveOak Venture Partners. The company plans to use the recent round of funding to expand the adoption of the company’s suite of digital, communication and adherence solutions.
Additionally, the company plans to focus on developing new products that improve patient outcomes. Digital Pharmacist solutions powers 6,000 pharmacies, national pharmacy wholesalers, hospital systems and pharmaceutical brands. . Patients can request refills and obtain the latest information about their medication through pharmacy branded websites and mobile apps.
“Seventy-five percent of patients want to manage their health provider relationships via their mobile device. Our solutions help pharmacies meet these patient demands,” said Chris Loughlin, chief executive officer in a statement. “With this new round of funding, we are inspired to work even harder on behalf of the thousands of pharmacies and millions of patients that use our products.”
