Health Choice Preferred, a division of IASIS Healthcare, and Cigna have announced an accountable care collaboration designed to offer more than 16,000 Cigna commercial customers in Utah a more coordinated, personalized healthcare option.
The collaboration ties value-based incentives to performance improvements that support population health management and improve outcomes for Cigna’s customers. Health Choice Preferred’s integrated network of healthcare providers utilize a broad range of population health capabilities, including predictive analytics, care coordination programs, and quality improvement initiatives that promote a more efficient model of care delivery.
“This agreement with Health Choice Preferred demonstrates Cigna’s commitment to working with the healthcare community to provide better value and improved outcomes for our customers,” said Kim Bimestefer, Cigna President for the Mountain States, including Utah. “With a respected network of healthcare professionals and highly integrated care model, Health Choice Preferred is an ideal partner as we continue to improve our customers’ healthcare experience and overall well-being.”
Cigna has been at the forefront of the accountable care organization movement since 2008 and now has 142 Cigna Collaborative Care arrangements with large physician groups. In places where it has been introduced, Cigna Collaborative Care is helping to improve the health of Cigna customers while effectively managing medical costs.
