CliniCloud

CliniCloud, the consumer digital health company bringing healthcare home with smart medical devices anyone can use, has raised $5 million in funding led by Tencent and Ping An Ventures. Additionally, CliniCloud announced a retail partnership with Best Buy to sell its first product, a connected medical kit containing a digital stethoscope, a non-contact thermometer and a mobile app that empowers patients to proactively manage their wellness at home in the U.S. and Canada, starting in November. The funding will be used to scale production and distribution of CliniCloud’s connected stethoscope and non-contact thermometer as well support the development of future products and expansion of their team.

Connected Home Kit Overview (Digital Stethoscope + Non-contact Thermometer)

A comprehensive at-home medical solution for patient-centered healthcare, the kit allows users to record basic vital signs including temperature, heart and lung sounds and then send the readings to their physician of choice or consult a network of on-demand medical professionals. By combining next generation infrared technology with Bluetooth connectivity, the CliniCloud thermometer takes temperature readings instantly and effortlessly – no skin contact required. This ensures more accurate readings, even without disturbing a child’s sleep.

CliniCloud App

Using the mobile app, CliniCloud integrates recordings from the two devices and brings them together in one simple app. You can store these readings on your phone or a secure cloud server. The app also provides metrics such as respiratory rate and heart rate to help you see if anything is out of the ordinary. CliniCloud is also integrated with telehealth provider Doctor On Demand™ that will allow consumers the ability to video chat with a physician and for the first time, get your heart and lung sounds examined as if you were there in person.  CliniCloud’s app will be available on iOS and Android from October 23.

“The stethoscope and thermometer are gateways to critical information that helps physicians diagnose illness in patients. By digitising them and connecting them to a powerful apps and network of medical professionals through our partnership with telemedicine partners such as Doctor On Demand, we are empowering every parent and carer to play an active role in healthcare,” said Dr. Andrew Lin, CEO of CliniCloud in an official statement.

CliniCloud is also currently working with University of California (UCSF) Medical Centre and Melbourne Royal Children’s Hospital on research projects focused on its products.
