BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina announced it will begin offering Rally Health’s digital health platform to group accounts this month to provide members with the support and tools they need to better manage their health and well-being. The HIPAA-compliant platform leverages the power of personal health data, social networking, and gamification to drive behavior change that make it fun and easy for people to lead healthier lifestyles.
How It Works
It starts with an online survey that captures each individual’s interests, concerns and health status. Then the platform creates a personalized experience including recommendations, rewards, coaching, online communities of interest and content.
After completion of the survey, members will have the ability to connect with BlueCross’ health coaches for help with chronic conditions like diabetes or health goals such as weight management. This digitally integrated approach extends Blue Cross’ traditional telephone support model into an ongoing monitoring and support system. Coaches can recommend specific interventions to members and encourage their progress through motivational messages and secure chat features.
These new services supplement BlueCross’ existing consumer health engagement strategy and help support members’ efforts to adopt healthier habits. BlueCross’ employer reports will incorporate population engagement measures along with clinical, utilization and financial outcomes to demonstrate the value of an actively engaged and healthy workforce.
Ralley Health is a primary provider of digital wellness solutions for UnitedHealth Group and is expanding its customer base through relationships with institutions like Health Alliance Medical Plans, with over 5 million people already on boarded to the platform.
