Intel-GE Care Innovations has announced a partnership with Xavier University’s Center for Innovation to test and analyze health peripherals and mobile health apps designed to help people manage their health, including chronic conditions. The partnership will provide Care Innovations with a permanent testing lab within the Center’s facilities that will help generate new insights about the best technologies and care plans that will connect patient data from the home to clinicians, bridging the gaps that exist between patient visits.
Additionally, Care Innovations and Xavier University is planning to launch a series of Innovation Summits for Xavier’s healthcare executive alumni to help them apply innovation practices at their organizations. These Innovation Summits will feature expert speakers and case studies to help attendees formulate plans that will push their organizations to innovate and improve our healthcare system.
“As the healthcare industry shifts and requires more patient engagement, we must stay ahead of the curve in knowing what peripherals and apps are reliable in helping patients manage their health from the comfort of their homes,” said Sean Slovenski, Chief Executive Officer of Care Innovations. “The home is a critical component that is often overlooked in population health programs. Most clinicians rely on limited or inaccurate patient data that doesn’t encompass the daily life of a patient. By incorporating data from the home, along with observations from clinical visits, clinicians will be better equipped to develop care plans that help patients succeed in better managing their conditions.”
