Rock Health, a San Francisco-based full service seed fund for digital health startups today announced its sixth cycle of companies known as “Rock Health V6”. Five out of the seven startups selected for this class are focused on the consumerization of healthcare ranging from a health insurance recommendation engine to a national virtual practice allowing patients to have a video visit with a board certified doctor.

Ambient Clinical Analytics (Patient Management & Clinical Support Tools)
The company is focused on providing critical decision support tools for ICU, Operating Room and Emergency Departments right at the patient’s bedside. Ambient Clinical Analytics brings together a trifecta of powerful new technologies, seeded from Mayo Clinic, to change the way critical care providers operate, offering real-time access to important process-of-care information and analytics, lessening the likelihood of procedural failures and saving lives.
Traction: Raised a $1.1M seed round from The Social+Capital Partnership and Mayo Clinic and was awarded $16M CMS grant to improve critical care performance for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries
Doctor on Demand (Video Chat with a Real Doctor)
A national virtual medical practice allowing patients to have a video visit with a board certified doctor in their state. The company helps solve the primary care access problem by allowing low-acuity, non-emergency visits to be handled via video. The service works on any device with a front-facing camera: iPhone, iPad, Android, web browsers.
Traction: $3M seed round raised from Google Ventures, Venrock and Andreessen Horowitz. All-star advisory board members.
Factor 14 (Intelligent anticoagulation management)
Over 4 million Americans who are at risk for blood clots currently take some form of blood thinner. Complications due to improper management or dosing of these drugs amount to over $5 billion in healthcare spending in the U.S. every year.
Factor14 are developing both hardware and software to help healthcare providers manage these patients remotely, reducing healthcare costs and improving patient outcomes.

Health Equity Labs (FICO Score for Health)
Health Equity Labs has developed a “FICO type” score for health and plan to use it to find people who have positive health equity. The score is not based upon steps or activity but rather metabolic markers like fasting blood sugar, cholesterol.
Traction: Currently in stealth mode. Serial entrepreneur team with successful exits to Google and Alibaba.
Kurbo Health (Mobile and Web-based tools to help adolescents lose weight)
Kurbo Health is using mobile technology and personalized coaching to help millions of overweight children get their weight under control. Utilizing intelligent mobile apps and web-based tools, Kurbo’s programs help children and their families eat healthier and lose weight. Based on research done by pediatric obesity experts at Stanford University and SUNY Buffalo, Kurbo Health is the first company with a scalable solution that combines virtual feedback, proven tracking methodologies, and personalized coaching to help adolescents control their weight using their favorite tool — their smart phone.

Studio Dental (Dental Office on Wheels)
Studio Dental is developing the first dental office on wheels that will visit you at work. The average dentist appointment takes four hours out of your workday while the company plans to keep consumers away from your desk for less than an hour.
