9 Key Drivers of Physician Dissatisfaction with EHRs

The ACA has changed the healthcare landscape entirely, with an influx of newly-insured patients entering the healthcare system—in some cases for the very first time.

A new survey of 1,168 providers on Practice Fusion’s free, web-based electronic health record (EHR) platform, explores the impact of this reform, mainly on small, independent practices.

Key findings of this survey include:

  • 33.6% of respondents report having seen any patients covered under the ACDS-951_ACA_survey_final-page-001
  • The regions of the U.S. where the largest and smallest percentage of providers report seeing any patients covered under the ACA are the South (37.1%) and Midwest (27.7%) respectivelyDS-951_ACA_survey_final-page-002
  • Practice Fusion providers report 45% of the time most of the ACA patients they have seen were previously uninsuredDS-951_ACA_survey_final-page-003
  • The majority or providers seeing any ACA patients (63.0%) reported no change in their patient volume due to the ACA
