Transcarent Recruits Optum Veteran to Expand WayFinding® Platform
Transcarent has appointed Mike Morgan as Chief Commercial Officer to lead sales, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market execution as the company expands adoption of its agentic AI navigation platform across employer and health plan markets. Reporting directly to CEO Glen Tullman, Morgan joins Transcarent’s executive leadership team during a phase of rapid platform scaling.
The appointment reflects broader enterprise buyer demand for vendor consolidation. Rather than managing multiple point solutions, self-insured employers and health plans are seeking multi-benefit architectures that combine virtual care delivery, pharmacy services, and benefit navigation within a single member interface.
Morgan brings over two decades of commercial leadership experience across healthcare and technology, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Sales at Sunny Benefits. His background includes leading sales and payer programs for Optum’s Patient Access & Engagement division following its acquisition of DocASAP, alongside earlier commercial roles at DXC Technology, VMware, EMC, and Merck.
Transcarent’s core platform centers on its WayFinding® engine, which utilizes agentic AI to synthesize clinical data for providers while delivering automated guidance, benefit alignment, and triage for health consumers. The software connects members to an integrated care stack that includes virtual primary care, transparent Pharmacy Care, 2nd.MD expert medical opinions, Centers of Excellence, and specialized programs for cancer and weight health.
The company currently serves more than 1,700 employers and health plans, reaching over 21 million covered lives. Morgan’s focus will center on expanding this footprint as health buyers prioritize single-platform models to reduce administrative friction and lower total cost of care.
“As we continue to scale Transcarent and help more employers and health plans transform the health and care experience by empowering people with AI, investing in exceptional leadership is critical,” said Glen Tullman, Chief Executive Officer of Transcarent. “Mike has led high-performing commercial organizations throughout his career… His leadership will help us bring Transcarent and the power of WayFinding to millions more people.”
