– GoGoGrandparent, a leader in on-demand services for aging adults, announced a new partnership with the State of Montana to provide free transportation and prescription/grocery delivery services to seniors. This collaboration represents a new, broader model for state-sponsored senior support that other states can emulate.
– The program allows residents 60 and over to access essential services simply by calling GoGoGrandparent directly, with no need for a smartphone or mobile apps.
A New Model to Support Independent Living
The partnership, organized in conjunction with Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services and local Area Agencies on Aging, is federally funded and designed to help older adults maintain their independence.
“Our goal in providing these services is to help older adults remain as independent as possible in their homes,” said Kerrie Reidelbach, Director of the State Unit on Aging within the Montana Department of Health and Human Services. “GoGo’s track record of serving older adults with care, safety and dignity made them a natural partner.”
GoGoGrandparent works with local transportation providers and thoroughly screens drivers to ensure they can meet the needs of older adults, such as assisting with walkers or foldable wheelchairs. Additionally, GoGo operators monitor rides while they are in progress and can proactively contact both drivers and riders if any issues arise.
The program first launched in Yellowstone and Fergus counties in August 2024 and has since expanded to include Lewis and Clark, Broadwater, Gallatin, Silver Bow, and Jefferson counties.
