What You Should Know:

– Philips, a global leader in health technology, and Ingeborg Initiatives, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving maternal and infant health announced a partnership to provide all expectant parents in Arkansas with access to the Philips Avent Pregnancy+ app.

– The initiative aims to enhance prenatal care, increase health literacy, and promote healthy habits among expectant families.

– Arkansas currently faces significant challenges in maternal and infant health, ranking last in the U.S. for both maternal and infant mortality rates. This partnership seeks to address these challenges by providing families with access to a comprehensive and personalized resource through the Pregnancy+ app.

Empowering Expectant Parents with Knowledge and Support

The Pregnancy+ app, customized with information specific to Arkansas, offers a wealth of resources for expectant parents, including:

  • Educational articles: Over 800 articles on pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care.
  • 3D baby models: Lifelike 3D models that show fetal development week by week.
  • Pregnancy tracker: A weekly tracker to monitor progress and milestones.
  • Expert-led courses: Audio and video courses on various topics related to pregnancy and parenting.
  • Arkansas-specific resources: Information on local social services, infant health programs, mental health support, and early childhood education.

“Maternal health in Arkansas is in crisis. Lawmakers are now focused on it, but it is going to take all stakeholders—public, private, philanthropic—to get women the care they need before, during and after birth,” said Olivia Walton, Founder & CEO of Ingeborg Initiatives. “We want to meet moms where they are—on their phones—providing them with the necessary resources at their fingertips. This is a positive step towards helping ensure healthier pregnancies through access to critical information and services that will help build healthy families.”
