What You Should Know:

– Johns Hopkins Medicine has signed an agreement with Caregility to implement the Caregility Cloud™ virtual care platform and inpatient telehealth devices. The collaboration will support the rollout of the health system’s Virtual Nursing program and broader care modernization strategy.

–  Under the partnership, Johns Hopkins will work with Caregility to enable remote engagement and collaboration at patient bedsides in four hospitals, including The Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center, Sibley Memorial Hospital, and Suburban Hospital, with plans for additional expansion in 2025.

Johns Hopkins Medicine Implements Caregility Telehealth Solutions to Enhance Virtual Nursing

Johns Hopkins Medicine, headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, integrates the physicians and scientists of the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with the healthcare professionals, facilities, and organizations of The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Health System. The institution comprises:

·       Six academic and community hospitals

·       Four suburban healthcare and surgery centers

·       Over 40 patient care locations

·       A home care group and an international division
These facilities collectively provide a comprehensive range of healthcare services.

Following an extensive evaluation, Johns Hopkins Medicine selected Caregility to support its inpatient virtual care initiative. This initiative aims to enhance bedside support and improve employee retention through Virtual Nursing. Caregility’s telehealth solutions will integrate with the health system’s Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), allowing clinical staff to initiate and manage virtual patient interactions within their existing workflows. Virtual nurses will assist bedside teams by performing routine care tasks, such as:

·       Admission assessments

·       Discharge education

·       Other essential patient care activities

By enabling concurrent remote workflows, Caregility’s telehealth devices will allow Johns Hopkins Medicine care teams to execute multiple virtual care tasks simultaneously. This integration builds upon the health system’s legacy of pioneering innovative care models that advance healthcare delivery.

“We are honored to contribute to Johns Hopkins Medicine’s longstanding tradition of excellence in patient care,” said Ron Gaboury, CEO of Caregility. “Our telehealth solutions will enhance efficiency and support care teams in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.”
