Genomics plc Expands Drug Discovery Collaboration with Vertex

–Genomics plc (Genomics), a healthcare company transforming health through the power of genomics today announced a three-year extension of the company’s collaboration with Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Vertex) (Nasdaq: VRTX) to use human genetics and machine learning to improve the discovery and development of new precision medicines.

-The partnership, which began in 2018, was previously extended in 2021. The collaboration will now run until 2026.

Vertex and Genomics Expand Partnership to Advance Drug Development

Vertex and Genomics have been collaborating to develop transformative medicines for serious diseases. Genomics has leveraged its expertise in human genetics to identify disease pathways and novel targets.

With the partnership extension, Genomics will broaden its genomic insights and increase the number of therapeutic areas under study. Additionally, they will utilize Genomics’ proprietary genetic tools to better identify patient populations and mitigate risks in selecting biomarkers for early drug efficacy measurements.
