Innovaccer Launches EMR-Integrated Point of Care Solution for Physicians

There is an epidemic of physician burnout in the US healthcare landscape. It has a pervasive negative effect on all aspects of medical care with complex nature of EMRs arguably being the major reason for it. For many physicians, the current state of EHR technology is dividing physicians’ focus with information overload, data entry, and less on value-based care.

To that front, Innovaccer is launching Innovaccer InAssist, a point-of-care tool for physicians which smartly integrates with a physician’s schedule and pinpoints the gap care for individual patients as physician browses through the EMRs.

The solution will stream in information from EMRs, recognize patients that need attention, and offer actionable insights to healthcare providers – all without requiring physicians to leave their EMR experience. The solution will be compatible with all browser-accessible EMRs.

As healthcare becomes increasingly data-centric, providers are seeking to integrate data-driven insights into their practice while avoiding further complicating operations. Pulling data together from different sources to identify the best treatment regimens can often be time-consuming, resulting in physician burnout and limiting patient interaction time. Additionally, integrating disparate data sources manually can often create substantial gaps in care as EMR information at times does not align with patient priorities and clinical workflow.

InAssist leverages advanced algorithms to integrate EMR data with other data sources in order to assess and surface care gaps, risk scores, disease registries, clinical documentation gaps, and other relevant information available for a patient. InAssist presents this crucial information on-screen in simple, real-time alerts as care team members work within EMRs. It also synchronizes with the providers’ calendar and presents upcoming appointments via timely reminders. The application runs with all the browser-accessible EMRs with no prior configuration and recognizes patients in need of immediate attention.

InAssist presents concise information, which can be customized to suit specific needs:

– Patients’ Name

– Demographic Details

– Care Gaps

– Coding Gaps

– Risk Scores

– Markers (e.g. Frequent ED Visitor, Frequent Flyer)

– Vitals

– Lab Results

– Medications

– Recent Visits

– Care Team (e.g. PCP, Specialist, Health Coach, etc.)

The alerts solution can also be integrated with other data systems using RESTful APIs leveraging Innovaccer’s InData platform to gain access to more information.

“With the growing role of data and technology in healthcare, we understand the continued importance of  providers spending more time with patients rather than spending half their day sorting through static files and millions of records,” says Abhinav Shashank, CEO at Innovaccer in a statement. “InAssist is a significant step in our commitment to making health data transparent, accessible, and impactful. We are optimistic that it will not only deliver crucial point-of-care alerts but also save a great deal of time for care teams,” he concludes.
