DoctorBase, the leading mobile marketing and engagement solution for medical organizations, has announced today its release of a completely free PANDA Enterprise Edition.PANDA is a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant solution that is used by more than 12,000 medical providers who service nearly five million patients.

Without hardware or software, hospitals and ACOs can nearly immediately offer a mobile-friendly patient-centered method of staying in touch with admins, mid-levels, physicians or unit clerks. Benefits include decreased readmissions and increased patient satisfaction, and the ability to easily fill the role of a patient-centered medical home. The PANDA Enterprise Edition has a user interface for both administrators and patients that is as intuitive to use as any social media platform, such as Facebook.

“As DoctorBase reached profitability as a wholly employee-owned company, we asked ourselves how we could increasingly become part of the solution to our county’s escalating healthcare costs,” said Zachary Landman, Chief Medical Officer for DoctorBase. “With increasing demand from hospitals and ACOs for a simple mobile system that can reduce readmissions and unnecessary patient consumption of in-office services, our team made a decision to offer a free model to our much distressed industry.”

PANDA Enterprise Edition has the same mobile-based communications and marketing features made available to the SMB market, but with added reporting and analytics functionality. DoctorBase engineers predict it can reduce hospital readmissions up to 42 percent with an IT implementation time that is nine times faster than traditional new software implementations, all without any hardware, software or data centers.

“Most mobile-based IT projects at hospitals and ACOs are doomed to fail or go wildly over budget because of the inability to get adoption from the organization’s users,” said Mischa Spiegelmock, Chief Technology Officer of DoctorBase. “Unlike enterprise solutions that cost hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars and require months of implementation and training, our enterprises know that as Meaningful Use Stage 2 approaches they have a platform that’s proven to win user engagement.”
