What You Should Know:

– Noom, a digital healthcare company focused on chronic disease prevention launches its new Menopause Education Hub. This free resource aims to help women navigate the complexities of menopause with tools and support developed in partnership with NYT bestselling author, podcaster, filmmaker, and menopause advocate Tamsen Fadal.

– As part of this collaboration, Tamsen Fadal joins Noom as the brand’s first-ever Official Menopause Awareness Advocate. The initiative leverages Noom’s evidence-based behavior change program to provide vital guidance for women experiencing the hormonal transitions associated with menopause.

Addressing the Often-Challenging Transition of Menopause

Menopause can bring a host of physical and emotional changes. As hormone levels fluctuate, the body’s metabolism of sugar and fat can be negatively affected, often leading to more intense hunger signals and symptoms like mood changes, hot flashes, sleep disturbances, and weight gain. Additionally, women can lose 3-8% of their muscle mass during menopause, even if their diet and exercise habits remain consistent. Noom’s new hub aims to provide support and education for these common concerns.

A Comprehensive Resource for Navigating Menopause

The personalized content within Noom’s Menopause Education Hub is designed to guide women through every step of this significant life transition, offering support from compassionate coaches, clinicians, and a community of peers. The hub will cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Common menopause symptoms
  • Menopause weight gain and nutrition strategies
  • Guidance on how to advocate for oneself and find the right doctor
  • Emotional and mental health support
  • Navigating relationships during menopause
  • Self-care tips and advice for healthy aging

Expert Partnership to Empower and Destigmatize

Tamsen Fadal, known as social media’s “midlife mentor,” pivoted her career from a more than three-decade tenure as a news anchor toward women’s advocacy after a sudden hot flash while anchoring the evening news changed her life’s course. Her work includes the groundbreaking PBS documentary, “The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause,” and the upcoming book, “How To Menopause, Take Charge of Your Health, Reclaim your Life and Feel Even Better Than Before” (Hachette 2025).

Future Developments and Continued Support

The collaboration between Noom and Fadal is set to continue with the development of additional resources for the Menopause Education Hub. Plans include quarterly virtual screenings of Fadal’s documentary, “The (M) Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause,” which will be followed by live Q&A sessions with Fadal to foster open conversations and provide ongoing support for women navigating menopause.
