Videra Health Launches AI Group Notes with Speaker ID Tech to Streamline Therapy Documentation

What You Should Know:

– Videra Health, an AI platform for behavioral health providers announced the launch of its AI-powered Group Notes feature for Videra Sidekick Notes.

– The first-of-its-kind capability utilizes proprietary Speaker Map™ technology to automatically identify individual patient voices during group therapy sessions, addressing a major challenge in behavioral health documentation.

Tackling the Challenge of Group Therapy Documentation

Group therapy is a cornerstone of behavioral health treatment, but documenting these sessions effectively presents significant hurdles for clinicians. Manually tracking multiple participants, accurately capturing individual contributions, and creating comprehensive notes that also reflect each person’s progress is historically time-consuming and complex. This administrative burden often detracts from patient care and can make group therapy less appealing for already strained providers.

Speaker Map™ Technology

Videra’s innovative solution centers on its proprietary Speaker Map™ technology. This advanced AI capability automatically distinguishes and identifies individual speakers within a group conversation. When Group Notes is used within the broader Videra platform, the system can leverage existing patient data to recognize participants it already knows. For speakers identified with high confidence, the system provides a visual indicator noting the AI assistance. If the system cannot automatically recognize a participant, it provides speaker identification assistance by presenting the clinician with small audio clips for quick confirmation, ensuring accuracy while saving significant time.

How AI Group Notes Works

Designed to seamlessly integrate into existing clinical workflows, Videra’s Group Notes aims to augment, not replace, clinician judgment. The AI generates comprehensive session summaries that capture the overall group dynamic while also creating distinct, individualized sections for each participant’s contributions and progress. This dual approach ensures both group context and individual detail are documented efficiently.

The primary goal of AI Group Notes is to alleviate the documentation burden specific to group therapy. Videra Health highlights that automated notetaking solutions can reduce documentation time by 60-70% on average. While AI scribes for individual sessions are becoming common, Videra’s Group Notes provides a much-needed, viable solution specifically for the complexities of multi-participant settings.

“The support for group therapy, a common form of treatment in behavioral health, represents a significant milestone in our journey to transform behavioral healthcare technology,” said Loren Larsen, CEO and founder of Videra Health. “Scribe solutions are rapidly becoming commonplace, but group notes have not, until now, had a viable solution. By automating the most time-consuming aspects of this process we’re continuing to give clinicians back valuable time to focus on patient care and personal wellbeing.”
