iCAD, GE HealthCare Integrate to Advance Breast Cancer Detection with AI

What You Should Know:

– iCAD, Inc., a global leader in clinically proven AI-powered cancer detection solutions, announced today a strategic collaboration with Microsoft.

– The partnership will integrate a set of iCAD’s AI-powered mammography solutions, part of its ProFound Breast Health Suite, into Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network, significantly expanding access to advanced breast cancer detection tools for clinicians.

Integrating AI Mammography into Leading Radiology Platforms

This collaboration leverages Microsoft’s extensive cloud infrastructure and established radiology platforms to deliver iCAD’s AI insights more seamlessly into clinical workflows. iCAD’s ProFound AI® Breast Health Suite will be fully hosted on Microsoft’s network, providing radiologists and healthcare providers with streamlined access to AI-driven tools designed to enhance breast health detection, improve clinical efficiency, and ultimately aim to improve patient outcomes. A key component of the collaboration involves providing access to automated mammography reporting features through Microsoft’s widely used PowerScribe platform.

Leveraging Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network for Broad Access

Microsoft’s Precision Imaging Network acts as a gateway for healthcare providers, offering streamlined access to a curated collection of third-party AI models, like iCAD’s, through a single point of integration. This network connects over 17,000 healthcare facilities across the nation. By embedding iCAD’s capabilities for cancer detection and density assessment within this network, the collaboration makes these advanced AI tools readily available to a vast number of radiologists and specialty physicians in diverse healthcare settings, delivering targeted, patient-specific insights with enhanced efficiency.

Streamlining Reporting with PowerScribe Integration

A majority of U.S. radiologists rely on Microsoft’s PowerScribe platform for its AI-based reporting and workflow features. As a mammography solution offered via the Precision Imaging Network, iCAD’s ProFound AI suite will be uniquely optimized for integration within PowerScribe. This allows radiologists to efficiently create, review, and share diagnostic reports by leveraging features that standardize language and automate routine reporting tasks, further embedding AI insights directly into the diagnostic process.

“We are excited to partner with Microsoft to expand access to our AI solutions for breast cancer detection across a broader network of healthcare providers,” said Dana Brown, CEO and President of iCAD. “This collaboration supports our growth strategy by expanding the reach of our industry-leading technology, driving deeper market penetration, and advancing our transition to a SaaS model. Integrating ProFound AI results in the PowerScribe report aligns with our shared mission to improve cancer detection and care while empowering radiologists to deliver earlier, more accurate interpretations with greater confidence and efficiency.”
