– Caregentic, an AI-native patient automation platform focused on streamlining clinician workflows, has announced the appointment of Russ Johannesson as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

– Johannesson is a seasoned healthcare executive with over three decades of experience in scaling high-growth health tech companies. His expertise spans AI, digital health, and commercial operations, making him well-suited to lead Caregentic’s national and international expansion efforts. In addition to his role as CEO, Johannesson will also join Caregentic’s Board of Directors.

Johannesson’s Bio/Background

Most recently, Johannesson served as CEO and Board Member of Glooko, a global leader in connected care for cardiometabolic conditions. During his time at Glooko, he oversaw significant growth, supporting over 1.2 million active patients and more than 8,000 healthcare institutions across 31 countries. His achievements at Glooko include tripling Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and raising over $250 million in capital, including a Series E round. He also led four strategic acquisitions in areas such as AI/ML, remote patient monitoring, and digital therapeutics.

Prior to Glooko, Johannesson was COO at Sharecare, where he played a key role in scaling the business from $47 million to over $400 million in revenue. He also served as Chief Client Officer at OptumHealth (UnitedHealth Group), where he was responsible for sales, marketing, and client management for an $8 billion+ portfolio. Earlier in his career, Johannesson held leadership positions at Carlson Marketing Worldwide, Sapient, Perot Systems, and Deloitte.
