What You Should Know:

– Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas, Inc. has launched its next-generation Exa® Platform, headlined by the most advanced version of Exa PACS|RIS to date.

– The new feature boasts significantly improved Multi Planar Reconstruction (MPR) functionality and full 3D generated image reconstruction and segmentation. This significant upgrade introduces a new API platform, marking a pivotal shift towards seamless integration with strategic partners and a more comprehensive healthcare ecosystem.

Expanded Exa PAC|RIS Ecosystem

This API platform forms the bedrock of Konica Minolta Healthcare IT’s strategy, focusing on strengthening the Exa PACS|RIS core while amplifying its capabilities through integration with best-in-class partner solutions. This approach aims to create a unified ecosystem that maximizes customer success and streamlines clinical workflows.

The expanded Exa PAC|RIS ecosystem now incorporates several powerful partner solutions, including:

  • NewVue: A cloud-native, AI-powered radiologist worklist and workflow orchestrator designed to drive efficiency, promote growth, and enhance radiologist well-being.
  • Clearpath Technologies’ Automated Platform: Facilitates the secure and efficient digital sharing of records and images with various requesters, including patients, providers, and legal entities.
  • Quinsite’s Comprehensive Healthcare Analytics Platform™: Empowers healthcare organizations with actionable insights derived from data, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making.

This launch builds upon the introduction of Exa Enterprise in November 2024, an integrated PACS and Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) featuring a universal viewer across specialties, developed in partnership with Apollo Enterprise Imaging. Exa Enterprise, combined with Exa PACS|RIS and Apollo’s arcc®, delivers a comprehensive solution for workflow, image viewing, and archiving for radiologists and all medical specialties.

“With this latest version of the Exa Platform, Konica Minolta delivers immediate benefits to our customer while at the same time delivering a platform for the future,” says Matthew Andersen, Executive Director Product Management, Konica Minolta HCIT. “Confident diagnosis requires more than a single imaging study—it demands the right information, in the right place, at the right time. Our next-generation Exa PACS|RIS delivers powerful clinical and workflow tools, transforming data into actionable insights for smarter decision-making.”
