AdventHealth Tops Gartner's Healthcare Supply Chain Ranking for 2024

What You Should Know:

– Gartner has released its 16th annual Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25 ranking, and AdventHealth has claimed the top spot for the first time.

– The prestigious ranking recognizes US health systems demonstrating leadership in supply chain management amidst a challenging environment.

Navigating Disruption and Prioritizing Risk Management

This year’s ranking highlights the resilience of healthcare supply chains in the face of ongoing disruptions, including natural disasters and port closures.

Gartner introduced a new quantitative risk management component to this year’s ranking, emphasizing the importance of proactive risk mitigation strategies. Many of the top-ranked health systems received high scores for their risk management approaches.

Masters of Supply Chain Excellence

The Healthcare Supply Chain Top 25 Masters category recognizes sustained leadership in supply chain management. Cleveland Clinic joins the ranks of Masters for the first time this year, alongside Mayo Clinic and Intermountain Healthcare, who have both achieved this recognition for seven consecutive years.

Top Performers in the 2024 Ranking

The top ten health systems in the 2024 ranking are:

  1. AdventHealth
  2. Stanford Health Care
  3. Bon Secours Mercy Health
  4. Corewell Health
  5. Banner Health
  6. Northwestern Medicine
  7. Rush Health
  8. BJC Healthcare
  9. CommonSpirit Health
  10. Advocate Health

“In 2024, health system supply chains have been strained and service has been impacted by ongoing disruption, from natural disasters to port closures, especially in recent months,” said Eric O’Daffer, Vice President Analyst in Gartner’s Supply Chain practice. “Amid a challenging environment, leading health systems have placed a greater emphasis on risk management while continuing to build improved capabilities in their supply chains by prioritizing clinical alignment, increasing organizational collaboration and accelerating the digital supply chain.”
