GE HealthCare Unveils Hospital Pulse Tile to Enhance Operational Efficiency with AI-Driven Insights

Key Features of Hospital Pulse Tile:

– Displays real-time and historical data to contextualize key operational metrics, such as daily emergency department admissions compared to six-month medians.

– Provides rapid snapshots of critical metrics, including the number of admissions, average length of stay, and emergency room flow, helping identify bottlenecks and ensure efficient operations.

– Allows tailored dashboards for multiple leadership levels, from nursing units to executive teams, to align insights with specific operational needs.

Duke Health, a long-term user of GE HealthCare’s Command Center Software, will be the first healthcare provider to implement Hospital Pulse Tile globally. The system will be available to other U.S. customers next year.

“Operational efficiency is critical to high-quality care, and Hospital Pulse offers a sustainable solution through AI-driven technology,” said Kristie Barazsu, Associate Chief Operating Officer at Duke University Hospital. She emphasized the importance of back-end operations in supporting positive patient interactions, underscoring the need for advanced digital tools to empower care teams.

GE HealthCare’s Command Center Software integrates data from multiple systems, including electronic medical records (EMRs), to enhance hospital-wide visibility. Specialized tiles within the platform, such as the Patient Placement Prioritizer and Capacity Intake Tile, facilitate real-time resource management by:

– Matching patients with available beds efficiently to reduce wait times.

– Providing predictive insights for staffing adjustments and capacity management.

The deployment of AI models at Duke Health has yielded significant operational improvements:

– 66% reduction in bed request-to-assignment time.

– 50% reduction in temporary labor needs since 2020.

– 6% increase in overall productivity, with improved staffing alignment across care levels.

This latest innovation reflects GE HealthCare’s broader mission to enhance hospital performance through AI-powered platforms, improving patient access, reducing inefficiencies, and fostering better clinical outcomes. As part of its comprehensive digital enterprise portfolio, Hospital Pulse Tile exemplifies GE HealthCare’s commitment to advancing integrated, connected, and personalized care pathways.

Serving healthcare providers for over 125 years, GE HealthCare continues to deliver medical technology, diagnostics, and data solutions to enhance operational efficiency, ensure precise therapies, and elevate the overall patient experience.
