What You Should Know:

– Mount Sinai Health System, a leading U.S. healthcare provider, and Noom, a pioneer in digital health and chronic disease prevention, have joined forces to offer patients a comprehensive approach to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.

– The partnership aims to bridge the gap between doctor visits by providing patients with continuous digital support for behavior change while keeping their physicians informed of their progress.

Addressing the Need for Weight Loss Solutions

With 160 million adults in the U.S. seeking to improve their health through weight loss, the demand for effective solutions is high. Even a modest weight loss of 5-10% can significantly reduce the risk of complications associated with obesity.

Combining Clinical Expertise with Digital Support

Mount Sinai physicians will now be able to refer select patients to the scientifically proven Noom Weight app. This app leverages innovative technology and psychology to help users make lasting changes to their eating habits. It offers personalized support, including tailored nutrition plans, fitness tracking, and macro tracking.

Access to Mount Sinai’s Experts

This partnership goes beyond just weight loss. Noom will also provide patients with access to Mount Sinai’s world-renowned experts for a wide range of weight loss-related healthcare needs. This comprehensive approach ensures that patients receive the support they need throughout their journey, from chronic care management to specialized treatment for complex medical conditions.

“Every weight-loss journey is different, and Mount Sinai recognizes that patients have different needs that may also vary over time,” said Lauren Lisher, Senior Vice President of Mount Sinai Solutions. “We want to ensure our patients are living their healthiest lives and are supported clinically and beyond. By integrating the Noom platform into our care approach, we’re enhancing the patient experience with digital tools that support their health goals. This partnership makes it easier for patients to embrace and stick to personalized care plans that seamlessly fit into their lifestyles.”
