What You Should Know:

–  Trilliant Health, the healthcare industry’s leading analytics firm,  released a free version of its Provider Directory application.

– The easy-to-use application creates a single source of truth for accurate and timely information about millions of healthcare providers and is available to the public at no cost.

Enhancing Provider Directories: A Foundation for Improved Healthcare Access and Coordination

Accurate provider directories are essential for:

– Patient access

– Care coordination

– Health plan network comparison

– Information exchang

– Price transparency

However, existing datasets present significant challenges, including:

– Inaccurate information: According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), provider directories frequently contain incorrect data.

– Interoperability issues: These directories often fail to support interoperable data exchange or public health reporting.

– High costs: Maintaining accurate directories is costly for the healthcare industry.

A recent report revealed that the National Provider Identifier (NPI) registry from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) only matched 28% of provider names, addresses, and specialties when compared to health plan directories.

Trilliant Health addresses these challenges with its national Provider Directory, a web-based application that includes:

– 2.9 million provider profiles across the United States

– Advanced machine learning models that update and correct outdated or inaccurate data typically found in NPPES and other directories

Each provider profile features comprehensive data, including:

– Patient panels

– Practice locations

– Specialties

– Affiliations

– Financial relationships disclosed in the Open Payments dataset

By leveraging cutting-edge technology, Trilliant Health’s Provider Directory ensures more reliable and actionable information for stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

“For years, the Federal government has been talking about a single, centralized source of truth for healthcare provider data,” said Hal Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of Trilliant Health. “Like CMS, we believe that an accurate provider directory is the cornerstone of many key initiatives, particularly interoperability. Unlike CMS, we don’t think health economy stakeholders and American consumers can afford to wait any longer to have access to an accurate provider directory.”
