What You Should Know:

–Levels, a software company that shows you how food affects your health, today announced a $10 million Series A Extension to bring its mission of solving the metabolic health crisis to an even wider audience.

– The round included $3 million in crowdfunding from more than 2,000 investors, as well as investments from Long Journey, a16z, and others.

Levels: Advancing Metabolic Health Through Data-Driven Insights

More than 128 million Americans are affected by prediabetes or diabetes. Of the 88 million people with prediabetes, 84% remain unaware of their condition. Levels aims to tackle the metabolic health crisis by providing biological observability, tracking numerous biomarkers, including glucose, to offer insights into how diet and lifestyle choices impact health and wellness. Levels empowers individuals to make informed food and lifestyle decisions based on real-time visibility into blood glucose levels and metabolic health.

“Simply tracking meals isn’t enough,” says Levels CEO Sam Corcos. ” That’s why Levels goes beyond basic food logging to actually show you how these choices affect your health, and what you should do to achieve your goals. Our members see results.”

Founded in 2019, Levels has helped over 60,000 members improve their metabolic health through personalized feedback. The platform leverages a range of data, including:

– Real-time blood glucose monitoring with optional continuous glucose monitors (CGMs)

– Blood testing

– Nutritional intake

– Sleep and exercise data

Levels’ app combines advanced AI-powered food logging and macro tracking with accountability tools, such as Habit Loops, to help users determine which foods and lifestyle choices best suit their individual needs. With over 700 million glucose data points and hundreds of thousands of food logs, Levels offers personalized insights, backed by a panel of expert advisors.

In addition to its consumer services, Levels is conducting a large-scale, Institutional Review Board-approved research study in collaboration with leading researchers globally. This study seeks to enhance understanding of glucose patterns across various demographics, including different ages, genders, and races, and to advance the science of how lifestyle choices influence these patterns.

Levels’ commitment to transparency and community engagement is evident in its approach to fundraising. The company raised $5 million of its original $38 million Series A through a crowdfunding round involving over 1,400 members. The latest crowdfunding effort aligns with Levels’ values of building in public and has been supported by a growing community, which includes more than 18 million views on its health-focused YouTube channel and over 2 million annual visitors to its metabolic health blog.
