Trinity Health Moves to Epic for Single Integrated EHR & Rev Cycle Platform

Michigan-based provider Trinity Health has announced it has selected Epic for a single, enterprise-wide electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management platform. The Epic integrated system will enable the health system to improve experiences for patients and clinicians.Trinity Health’s fully integrated health record will improve the care experience across the entire system by providing a single, comprehensive health record for each person.

For patients and consumers, it will provide access to many other tools including online scheduling, e-visits, and simplified online bill pay. Physicians and clinicians across the system will benefit from a shared patient record to facilitate deeper integration, including sharing of information with other caregivers to improve patient safety and outcomes.

The implementation of Trinity Health’s enterprise EHR and revenue cycle platform will include all of the system’s hospitals, ambulatory care centers, physician offices and continuing care programs. Trinity Health will ultimately train more than 100,000 colleagues on the unified platform.

“People deserve customized and convenient health care experiences, including simple access to a complete health and billing record. At the same time, physicians and clinicians need tools that make it easier to practice medicine. We look forward to implementing a single, enterprise solution enabling us to deliver excellent, people-centered care,” said Mike Slubowski, president and chief operating officer of Trinity Health.

“We are confident a single platform will enable new levels of innovation, consumer focus, clinical and business integration and efficiency to help us build our people-centered health system. It will also help align people, process and technology to create a culture in which people-centered care becomes the standard way we care for the communities we serve,” Slubowski said.
