Iowa’s Largest Private Physician Group Transitions to eClinicalWorks EHR

Physician’s Clinic of Iowa (PCI), one of Iowa’s largest, private specialty medical groups, will convert to eClinicalWorks’ comprehensive cloud EHR solution, V11, for all of its 84 providers. PCI selected the eClinicalWorks solution for its ability to seamlessly integrate within the existing hospital system, for its focus on ambulatory care and the connectivity with Carequality, an interoperability network. The eClinicalWorks solution will also help PCI streamline and improve overall efficiency and communication and encourage more preventive-focused care.

“After a thorough exploratory process, PCI will shift to the eClinicalWorksEHR solution from Greenway Health,” said PCI CEO Michael Sundall in a statement. “ Not only does eClinicalWorks V11 provide a wealth of convenient patient-focused features, it links patient demographics and medical records to insurance, billing and claims data. These features were very appealing to PCI as we move forward with our next generation EHR.”

Some features of the eeClinicalWorks V11 solution include:

– Self-activation for seamless integration of CommonWell Health Alliance and Carequality, both common-use interoperability framework networks

– Eva, the eClinicalWorks Virtual Assistant, that aims to improve usability and efficiency

– And telemedicine services via healow Televisits, that expands patients’ access to care

V11 also has key components that help streamline behind-the-scenes physician processes and care team administration tasks.

“eClinicalWorks is the really the gold standard for independent multispecialty clinics,” said PCI CIO Jeremy Thorsgaard in a company press release. “The software’s features are tailor-made for our unique processes and provide the best pathway to provide excellent patient care.”

The current transition plan involves moving from Intergy EHR to eClinicalWorks over the next six to eight months.
