Magellan Health has announced a new collaboration with Accountable Cardiac Care of Mississippi (ACCOM) and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi, leveraging a new, clinical best practice model in efforts to address cardiovascular health and improve cost, quality and outcomes for members in northeast Mississippi. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in this state, accounting for more than one-third of all deaths.
According to the Mississippi State Department of Health, cardiovascular disease, including heart disease and stroke, is the leading cause of death in Mississippi, accounting for over one-third of all deaths in the state. In addition, Mississippi’s cardiovascular disease mortality rate remains the highest in the nation.
Magellan supports innovative ways of accessing better health through technology, while remaining focused on the critical personal relationships that are necessary to achieve a healthy, vibrant life.
