Sensoria, Genesis Rehab Services Partner to Deliver Wearable Smart Aging Solutions

Sensoria,a provider of smart garments and wearable technologies has signed a strategic partnership with Genesis Rehab Services (GRS),  a subsidiary of Genesis HealthCare, provider of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory therapy and wellness services, primarily for older adults. As part of the strategic partnership, Sensoria Health and its new wearable smart aging products and services will leverage Genesis Rehab Services’ clinical knowledge and Sensoria’s intellectual property and will be co-branded “Sensoria Health powered by Genesis Rehab Services.”

The new company will leverage Sensoria’s technology platform which internally is referred to as Sensoria Core. This non-mission specific microelectronic device can be used as a stand-alone wearable as well as connected to the new Sensoria smart sock v2.0 or Sensoria smart shoes for fall detection, prevention and rehabilitation scenarios.

Over 30% of all people aged 65 and older fall each year. The goal of Sensoria Health is to accelerate the development of rehab and fall prevention and detection predictive analytics solutions. This data asset creation will be generated by the broad adoption of smart clothing and body sensors and address the aging population healthcare needs both at home as well as in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.

“Sensoria Health will be developing solutions that help improve aging people’s lives.  We all recognize the need for smart wearable and tele-health solutions that are geared toward the elderly and see the health care vertical as very promising.  We are thrilled to partner with Genesis Rehab Services, a leader in this industry, to provide the new company guidance and clinical validation to our new healthcare focused solutions,” said Davide Vigano, Co-Founder and CEO of Sensoria in a statement.
