naviHealth to Acquire Curaspan: 4 Key Things to Know

naviHealth, Inc., a Cardinal Health company, has entered into an agreement to acquire Curaspan Health Group, Inc., a privately held provider of care transition tools for hospitals and post-acute healthcare providers. Curaspan’s integrated workflow solution helps enable seamless transitions of care for patients throughout the acute and post-acute continuum. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. 

Here are four key things to know about the acquisition: 

1. The acquisition will help boost enhance Cardinal Health’s role as a leader in post-acute care services through the addition of Curaspan’s highly strategic customer base of over 600 hospitals and more than 8,000 post-acute providers. 

2. The combination of of Curaspan platform with naviHealth’s existing services and LiveSafe® and RightCare™ technologies creates end-to-end solution for clinical information sharing and optimized care transitions in value-based care environment

3. Curaspan is currently installed in over 600 hospitals and has more than 8,000 post-discharge customers including skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, long-term acute care hospitals, dialysis centers,durable medical equipment distributors, hospice providers, transportation companies, and other postacute care organizations to receive patient information and referrals.

4. The transaction, which is conditioned on regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, is expected to close before the end of June 2016.
