Faith-based health care organization Adventist Health System has selected athenahealth’s EHR solution to support 1,600 of its employed physicians. This partnership is designed to support Adventist Health System’s goal for its employed physician practice operations to rank nationally at the top quartile or higher.

“After an extensive evaluation that included stakeholders from clinical, operations, technology and other areas across our system, Adventist Health System selected athenahealth for its usability, provider efficiency, ability to be used to improve operations, and demonstrated innovation in support of advanced ambulatory care,” said Bryan Stiltz, senior vice president of physician enterprise for Adventist Health System.

A national leader in quality, safety and patient satisfaction, Adventist Health System’s nearly 77,000 employees maintain a tradition of whole-person health by caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of every patient. With 44 hospital campuses and more than 8,100 licensed beds in 10 states, Adventist Health System facilities incorporate the latest technological advancements and clinical research to serve more than 4.7 million patients annually. The full continuum of integrated care also includes urgent care centers, home health and hospice agencies, and skilled nursing facilities. Each Adventist Health System facility operates independently in delivering care and services to best meet the needs of the local communities they serve. While each entity is unique, all remain united in one mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ.

“Adventist Health System looks forward to working with athenahealth to connect to our internal Health Information Exchange, and to develop further integration between athenahealth and our acute and post-acute electronic medical records with the goal of providing employed physicians with clinical information across the AHS continuum of care,” said Brent Snyder, Adventist Health System’s chief information officer.
