Viewics and Mayo Clinic team up to deliver better healthcare through advanced analytics

Viewics, Inc., a provider of health care analytics solutions, and Mayo Clinic recently signed an agreement that will use the Viewics analytics platform to drive key initiatives for safety, service, costs, and quality.

As part of the agreement, Viewics will deploy its data platform Viewics Health Insighter across various divisions within Mayo’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, including the health care organization’s reference laboratory Mayo Medical Laboratories. The Viewics analytics platform will aggregate data from diverse sources and provide real-time information and insights across clinical, operational, and financial areas of the organization to support strategic decisions and standardize day-to-day laboratory functions. Viewics Health Insighter will help Mayo Medical Laboratories and its clients understand the impact that analytics can make on a laboratory’s offerings and value proposition.

“Clinical laboratories can create more value by analyzing data beyond the test results,” says William Morice, II, M.D., Ph.D., chair of Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. “Working with Viewics, we can create algorithms, pull data, and unlock a goldmine of information that will help us deliver high-value laboratory services and high-quality, low-cost care to patients worldwide.”

Mayo Medical Laboratories provides advanced laboratory testing and pathology services to more than 5,000 health care organizations around the world, supporting health care systems, hospitals, specialty clinics, and other clinical laboratories. Its mission is to deliver greater quality and value through its laboratory testing, working with health care organizations to provide expert, whole-person care to everyone who needs healing.
