Telemedicine Partnership

MeMD announces that its telemedicine partnership  with Maricopa Integrated Health System (MIHS) demonstrated a 78% ROI with a net savings of $74k.

A year after announcing the adoption of the MeMD Telemedicine Solution by MIHS, one of Arizona’s leading health care systems, a strong partnership has evolved, resulting in high utilization and large savings for MIHS. Through open communication, proven on-boarding strategies, continued support, and dedicated resources from MeMD, the partners have worked together to integrate telemedicine into the wellness program at MIHS.

“We are proud of the partnership we have created, the amount of time MeMD has dedicated to us, and the excitement they share about our hospital and our employees” says Mica Goldfeder, Director of Human Resources at MIHS. “We don’t have very many other vendors who are willing to come to open enrollment and meet employees here every 2 weeks.”

Hospital systems, in particular, are good candidates for adoption of a telemedicine wellness program for employees. Busy schedules, employee background knowledge in healthcare, and the convenience of a webcam or phone consultation are just a few of the reasons MIHS employees appreciate MeMD as a benefit to their health plan.

“It is helpful for our employees not to have to sit in an urgent care for many hours to get the help that they are already aware that they need,” adds Goldfeder. “Being able to speak with a MeMD provider just to confirm their diagnosis and receive additional medical advice helps make this a good fit for us.”

With a 77.61% ROI and a net return of over $74,000 savings in its first year of the partnership, MIHS has not only utilized, but also embraced the partnership with MeMD. As the field of telemedicine continues to grow exponentially and become more universal, these utilization and savings numbers are projected to continue their upward trends.
