New York Digital Health Accelerator announces inaugural startup class during this week’s Digital Health Conference 2012

New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC) and The Partnership for New York City Fund (Parnership Fund) announced the inaugural class of 8  startups for the New York Digital Health Accelerator, the largest funded health IT accelerator program in the United States. The program is the first of its kind to offer access to senior-level healthcare providers who are committed to the success of the selected 8 startup companies.

The 8 selected earrly stage and growth companies were selected out of 250 applications from companies located in 27 states and 10 countries. Each company received up to $300k in funding including mentoring from leading senior level executives at leading healthcare hospitals and providers for nine months in addition to a commitment to open an office in New York state. The companies will have a great opportunity to leverage this community of hospitals and providers mentorship, testing, and validation of their companies products/services to accelerate their growth.

With an investment of $4.2 million, the NYDHA program is expected to create over 1,500 jobs over the next five years and will attract upwards of $150 million to $200 million in investments from the venture capital community post program.

New York Digital Health Accelerator Announces Inaugural ClassAidin is a web-based referral platform for hospitals discharging patients to post-acute care.  Aidin collects hard data about how well post-acute providers perform and makes it easy for hospital staff to present that information to patients when they are choosing their post-acute provider – helping patients choose better providers for better outcomes.
