The New Jersey Innovation Institute (NJII) is partnering with Hackensack Meridian Health to launch a healthcare Ideation Center to support digital health innovation. The Ideation Center, located in Newark on the NJIT campus, will help create and launch the next wave of healthcare technology, products and services. The center will be run through NJII’s Healthcare Delivery Systems iLab that specializes in pairing New Jersey’s top innovators with companies whose mission is to change the face of healthcare in New Jersey and nationally
The center plans to utilize a multidisciplinary approach and a balance of physical and virtual capabilities to facilitate brainstorming, problem-solving, process reengineering and design, workflow automation and collaborative activities. Using this approach, practitioners and design groups have a solid foundational environment to drive the digital health innovation process.
“Healthcare is an industry that has lagged behind many other industries in its embrace and use of new and disruptive technologies,” said Tomas Gregorio, senior executive director, NJII Healthcare Delivery Systems iLab in a statement. “The goal of the center is to create an environment where new ideas can flourish and thrive.”
