The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) has appointed Epic President Carol Dvorak to its Board of Directors in a move to strengthen its industry EHR engagement. He joins a board comprised of CISOs and CPOs representing many of the nation’s largest insurers and hospitals.
As the original developer of several Epic applications, Mr. Dvorak is responsible for all technical and service areas and brings unique perspective and extensive skills in developing and supporting EHRs to HITRUST. 55 percent of today’s patient medical records are now housed on Epic’s EHR system.
In addition, HITRUST has appointed David Muntz as a senior advisor of public policy to support the organization’s growing voice in public policy issues. HITRUST is increasingly asked to share its experience and represent the healthcare industry in public policy initiatives ranging from information risk management, information management, de-identification frameworks and cyber threat intelligence sharing to security and privacy standards.
Mr. Muntz is recognized for his expertise and insights as both a CIO and industry practitioner as well as a major contributor to government public policy initiatives including leading advocacy efforts during his tenure on the CHIME Board. In 2012, he was appointed by the White House as the first Principal Deputy National Coordinator and served as Chief of Staff and CIO at ONC. He returned to the private sector as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of GetWellNetwork.
