Intuit is famous for offering its accounting solutions Quicken and QuickBooks for SMBs in many different industry verticals. Could it do the same for healthcare?
Software Advice (click here to view their website) recently wrote an article that discusses a Intuit Healthcare possibility. One of the things that Intuit does well is offer its accounting solutions when businesses are small, and then work with other systems that integrate with QuickBooks when the business grows larger. Austin Merritt feels that Intuit can do this with healthcare, by offering an Intuit EMR for SMBs.
The article points out that Intuit purchased MedFusion 1 year ago, and that Intuit has revamped its health portal over the last few months. If Intuit was to create a more robust healthcare offering, they would have to acquire an EMR provider…the question is, who? Merritt goes through a list of possible acquisitions targets, and lists HealthFusion as the most likely target, and Office Ally the next most likely. You can take the poll at the end to voice your opinion on possible EMR targets, or leave a comment.
